I was minding my own business in Asda last night when a woman came up to me to admire my bag! She couldn't stop stroking it and was very impressed to hear that it was made entirely out of plastic carrier bags. I was very pleased indeed :o)
+edited 17th Oct. As you'll remember if you saw my previous post, I crocheted this bag out of plarn (plastic yarn). My crochet skills aren't wonderful yet (thank you so much for teaching me, Sian!) so I made 5 separate panels and crocheted them together. From your responses (thank you so much), I think I will make another bag! Although, I'll need a little break from plarn first. I feel the socks calling me...
And you will be selling these where? Because that is amazing.
ReplyDeleteone class bag more to come send hubby over to superstore to where they put the old bags outside main door.take one black bag fill it up then tell him to run.if anybody asks tell them Sa and sian told you?????EX BAG WITH CLASS.
ReplyDeleteOoh, quite nice, quite nice... anyways, this little project turned out quite nicely didn't it :)
ReplyDeleteWould love to see more,
Karen
*As she now has to go tackle some calculus homework
did you knit it?
ReplyDeleteI want one of those bags! Great work and a great mind with loads of impressive ideas.
ReplyDeletePippa, that is amazing. It looks really strong and is such a pleasing shape. Well done you!
ReplyDeleteOoh yep, nice bit of recycling. Do you use plastic or metal hooks? My plastic ones really drag on the plarn and subsequently I've hardly finished anything with it!
ReplyDeleteThank you all :o)
ReplyDeleteMichelle: I actually use wooden crochet hooks. They're very pretty. I'll probably blog about them one of these days, or at the very least I'll put some pictures of them on Flickr. I did find that the hook got really grubby (either from the unseen dirt on the carrier bags or the dye in the bags) - it was so grubby that I had to scrape off the grime! Yuk!
You're a genius - I love your blog back!!!xxx
ReplyDeleteAmazing bag!!! Another etsy item?
