special delivery

So, you've ordered some plates from a shop...

(Wait. You haven't ordered any plates. Don't get confused, I'm telling a story. Bear with me.)

You'd been meaning to get them for a while but then you got given a voucher for the shop and 20% off, so you decided to seize the day. Anyway, that's irrelevant. The point is that you ordered some plates.

Still with me?

Right. How would you expect them to arrive? Have a think about it.

In a box?

Or a few boxes?

Perhaps with some bubble wrap?

No.

They arrived in a bag.

Yes, a bag.

And each plate was in its own padded envelope.

Am I the only one who finds this odd?

  1. lol. That is a little odd. Mind you, I ordered some Pyrex bowls from Amazon and they arrived in nothing more than a box and some brown paper. Was lucky they didn't break!
    Great story telling!

  3. Too too funny. But at least you can re-use them for your orders...

  4. That is REALLY odd. You'd think that if they were in their own individual envelopes that they'd still be put in a box. Right?

  5. That particulr shop is well known in our family for bizarre packaging. For example, my mum ordered a couple of dresses a while ago - one arrived sort of rolled up around a coat hanger in a bag, the other arrived in a box measuring about 2 feet by 2 feet by 3 feet. A dress. Wow.

  6. Lost Star: Thanks for the comment on my story telling!

Kate: Yes they were nice plates. Just the right size for a piece of cake. I shall photograph them and show you.

    Rowan: That's exactly what I thought ;)

Lila: Thanks for the comment and welcome to my blog!

Lissy: That's is so bizarre! I'd love to know why they do it. Do they put red things in boxes and white things in bags? There seems to be no logic to it.
